5 Things We Don’t Do, Thanks to Technology
The miracles of science never stop making our lives more convenient, and to think it all started because someone thought “there has to be an easier way to do this.”
The advent of innovative technologies not only makes our lives simpler so we have more free time for more important things, but also there are now certain tasks we no longer need to do.
Check out the following five things we don’t have to deal with anymore, thanks to technology:
Buying Handheld Cameras
Handheld cameras are devices that you only ever see in the hands of professionals, or amateurs trying to get into the photography game – everyone else relies on their smartphones, which makes sense but also means that cameras are now more expensive and disposable cameras are seen as novelties.
Remember Phone Numbers
Remembering someone’s number was often seen as a sign of a good memory – now, it’s seen more like a novelty, as smart phones and devices can record hundreds of thousands of numbers, much more than a human brain can.
Handwritten Letters
Texting, instant messaging and e-mails have all but made writing letters a formal – and in some circles, a novel – affair. After all, who has the time to wait for a letter to arrive when you can get an instant response via text?
Listening to the Radio
Remember sitting in the backseat of your parents’ car and listening to whatever played on the radio? That’s become less common now, as mobile devices can now hold up plenty of your favourite music, connect to your favourite podcasts, and you can take them everywhere.
Buying DVDs and CDs
Digital streaming services and storage platforms have made buying hard storage obsolete. This also means no more copying your favourite film or making a mixed disc so that a friend can enjoy it, too.
